An evening of superb music brought to you by some of the Northeast's best emerging songwriters!

Matt Borrello is a singer-songwriter from Southeastern Massachusetts. For five years Matt has performed regularly in the Boston/Providence area, usually as a solo acoustic act, but also as a sideman for other songwriters and as the leader of his band, the Quality Dogs. His songs draw their structures from folk, country, blues, and rock music. He is a lover of spontaneous collaborations and his songs often have several different arrangements.

Matt writes from a personal perspective, but his songs are markedly devoid of the boring self-pity that plagues the repertoires of many acoustic balladeers. He has several protest songs and no breakup songs. Matt's insightful lyrics and passionate performances have earned him recognition in various New England talent showcases and songwriting contests, most notably at the Boston Folk Festival Youth Songwriting Contest. He regularly performs at venues throughout the region, including Club Passim, The Lizard Lounge, and The Narrows Center for the Arts.

Lara Herscovitch's music is an original blend of modern acoustic/folk with blues, jazz, and pop influences. With her voice "clear and smooth like expensive liquor," she stands "above and beyond the pack" (Northeast Performer). Herscovitch is "a remarkable performer" (WSHU Public Radio), "a rising talent who is truly someone to watch for" (Acoustic Live in NYC). Former State Troubadour of Connecticut (2009-2010), Lara brings a charm, authenticity, and love of performing that immediately resonates with diverse audiences. She has appeared as a guest on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor and tours from Maine to Miami.

Her voice and performance style captivates audiences. "It's rare to come across poets able to inject such an achingly human and knowing warmth into their work. It's obvious that this musician-composer has hit her stride, and that her star is still rising" (Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange).

Joanne Lurgio is a truly gifted songwriter. Her stunning lyrics, combined with her beautiful voice and wonderful guitar work, will prompt you to chase your dreams. Her original songs include a tale or two about ordinary people who, like her, excel and inspire. Joanne's newest CD release, Nothing Remains the Same, garnered the 2010 Album of the Year award at the Motif Music Awards.  The album was recorded and produced by Mike Dunbar in Nashville, the heart of music country.

Joanne's singing and guitar work, honed and polished in the venues of New England, have brought her much well-deserved recognition, including being named "Best Singer and Songwriter" in both 2007 and 2011 by Motif Magazine. Joanne's music has a distinct Americana feel with New England charm. She moves from country to bluegrass, from folk and R&B to gospel, all with a bluesy undertone.

Lisa Martin draws upon diverse influences spanning three decades. Her music bridges the elements of country, folk, Americana, rock, and blues. Lisa captivates audiences with her heartfelt delivery, powerful vocals, guitar prowess, and quick wit. The recipient of several songwriting awards/nominations, she continues to hone her craft. "My goal is to create music that matters, music that the listener can identify with and enjoy." Positive reviews from fans and critics continue to pour in as Martin's exposure grows.

"Melodic and catchy." (Mark Erelli)

"She has a knack for wringing out all the passion that can possibly fit into a 3-minute song." (Springfield Republican)

Martin's music "has an intense back beat rarely found within the folk genre" (Motif Magazine).

"Few of her acoustic cohorts can rock out like she does." (Worcester Phoenix)
