The ingredients of Kyle Carey's music include the songs of the American Folk Anthology, the Appalachian poetry of Louise McNeill, and the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland and Cape Breton. Kyle's debut album "Monongah," produced by former Lùnasa guitarist Donogh Hennessy, rose to number eight on the Folk DJ charts, landing on a number of 'Best of 2011' lists the year of its release. Her original songs draw heavily from the American folk tradition, while her fluency in Scottish Gaelic makes for her own brand of 'Gaelic Americana' music.
Instrumentalist and songwriter Craig Werth has many claims to fame, the foremost perhaps being the years he spent as accompanist to Juno award-winning singer/songwriter David Francey. Craig co-produced Francey's 2008 "Right of Passage" album, which won a Juno award for best album. With the release of his own highly acclaimed and Folk DJ charting album of original songs - "The Spokes Man" - Craig has returned to the road as both a solo artist and in collaboration with other talented musicians. He performs primarily with voice, guitars, bouzouki, ukulele, banjo, and shruti box.
Together, Kyle and Craig will bring you a mix of original and traditional material. Their contemporary compositions, new songs that sound old, and songs in Scottish Gaelic make for a unique evening of crossover music.
