Starting with reading a short nonfiction essay, we will discuss the ways a writer might approach the mysterious in a text. We will discuss possibilities of the abstract and the uncertain as rendered through language. The class also focuses on poetry - and we will read and consider selected poems with close attention to: image, page space, and diction. The class will include multiple generative exercises. Writers of other genres and visual artists are encouraged to attend!
