Daughter of Bay Area jazz icons Smith and Gail Dobson, Santa Cruz native and Brooklyn darling singer-songwriter Sasha Dobson of Puss n Boots (Norah Jones) returns for a homecoming show and is self-releasing an electric blanket of new originals. After five years of playing and touring around the world together in Norah Jones band, the two women decided to start another band together. With the addition of Catherine Popper on bass, Puss n Boots formed and they took their talents into the studio. Their debut album No Fools, No Fun was released on Blue Note in July 2014. Not many artists have successfully transitioned from jazz to country, the release enjoyably proved that it can be done very well. Over the past years, Sasha has done two guest appearances with Neil Young and Bob Dylan at MusiCares. Leading her own band, she has also done a series of opening dates for Neil Young and Willie Nelsons Farm Aid performances. Throughout her career, Sasha has continually maintained her notoriety as a remarkable jazz vocalist. With performances in Lebanon, Russia, Japan, China, Switzerland, and Greece Sashas voice has been heard and enjoyed worldwide. 2017 now finds Sasha on the verge of releasing a series of singles that continue her exploration of infusing electronic pop alongside her masterfully honed vocal delivery.
