About the Panelists:
Ryan Krivoshey (Cinema Guild) Ryan Krivoshey is Director of Distribution at the Cinema Guild, a leading distributor of documentary, foreign, and independent film. Mr. Krivoshey oversees the companys theatrical, television, home video, and non-theatrical operations. Since coming aboard in 2002, the Cinema Guild has released acclaimed films like Benoit Jacquots A Tout de Suite and Alexander Sokurovs Alexandra, and acquired award-winning documentaries such as The Blood of Yingzhou District, winner of the 2007 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject. Mr. Krivoshey is also on the board of the New York Film/Video Council.
Peter Rienecker (HBO) Peter Rienecker is Vice President and Senior Counsel, Original Programming at Home Box Office, where he manages legal issues and advises in development, production and distribution, First Amendment, intellectual property and labor. He is responsible for pre-telecast and content review of documentary, investigative and sensitive fact-based programming. He graduated summa cum laude from Boston College, and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. Peter serves on the Board of Directors for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
About Ms. Smolansky: Innes Smolansky is a New York based entertainment attorney specializing in representing producers, production companies, talent agencies and management companies, writers, authors, directors, and performers in independent motion picture production, documentaries, television and business and personal management deals. Her extensive and wide-ranging experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and counseling clients on development, financing, production, talent, employment, management and distribution deals has earned her a reputation as a skilled, savvy, and well-respected attorney in the entertainment industry.
Ms. Smolansky was born in St. Petersburg Russia and studied at Brown University (B.A. magna cum laude); University of Pennsylvania (J.D.); University of Paris X (Diploma D'Etude Juridique Europeenes).
