David Wax Museum (duo) House Concert in Cambridge
Here's your chance to catch a rare, intimate show of the band's founders, David Wax and partner Suz Slezak. David and Suz are getting ready to get back into the studio to record a new album and so will be testing out and previewing new material, as well as playing songs from the band's 10-year-catalog.
2018 will be a year of creation for the band as they prepare to get back into the studio. This winter and spring they'll be doing a series of house concerts in select cities around the country to raise the funds for the recording process. By coming to this house concert, you will be part of the grassroots effort to support these independent musicians' next record.
David Wax Museum is a folk and roots rock band blending traditional Mexican folk music with Americana in what they call Mexo-Americana. With NPR hailing them as "pure, irresistible joy" and raves everywhere from SPIN and Entertainment Weekly to the New York Times and The Guardian (which dubbed the music "global crossover at its best") they've earned invitations to support The Avett Brothers, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Buena Vista Social Club, and more.
The show's host, Dan Hogan, has a long history with the band, having first hired them to play his 65th birthday party nine years ago. He was the Executive Director of Club Passim when David & Suz played there with great regularity.
