Hes on the Wrong Shelf in Life
Two Icelandic fishermen, Kristjan and Gunnar, happen upon one another at a fishermans bar in rural Iceland. Casual conversation of the trade turns to embellished tales of the sea. Pride and identity lead them to comedic, and at times, poetic, realizations of self and directing their own vessels to a better tomorrow. An absurd comedy rooted in realism with a dash of folklore. A fjandinn góður tími!
Asheville Improv Collective (AIC) presents: You, Me & Them and Family Dinner. AIC is performing on two different days and it will be two different troupes for each show.
You, Me and Them: In classic improv style, the troupe will conduct a short interview with a random audience member about what their biggest fear is. Using the information from the interview as inspiration the troupe will then improvise an entire show, with each member of the troupe using their own take of the information to inspire their scenes and characters. Family Dinner: Each member of the troupe will write down their fear and or fears on a piece of paper and put them in a hat. Then each member of the troupe will draw one of the fears out of the hat and use that as inspiration and guidance to drive their character in the completely improvised scenes to follow. Asheville Improv Collective, also known as AIC, is Western North Carolinas only independent school focused on long-form improvisational comedy. Our goal is to build and nurture an improv community by teaching long-form in a safe and positive environment. We truly believe that improv can help in every aspect of life.
