After a year of the new administration in Washington it is clear our fears were not unfounded. Civil liberties, the environment, science, the arts, the working class, the middle class, economic rights, and so many other basic aspects of our society and culture are under sustained attack.
In response, The Kate Schulte Foundation presents The Columbus Liberation Music Orchestra in a benefit concert (Friday, January 19, 7 pm) for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), and the Columbus Mennonite Church Sanctuary Fund (which currently houses refugee Edith Espinal). The organizations for which we are raising money are on the forefront of the resistance to these attacks and injustices. ART 4 JUSTICE!!!
The concert will be at the Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Avenue.
The Columbus Liberation Music Orchestra is The Jazz Poetry Ensemble (Michael Vander Does, Roger Hines, Roger Myers, Brett Burleson, Laura Kolb) with special guests The Governor (Greg Pearson), Debra James Tucker, Randy Mather, Eddie Bayard, Wahru Cleveland, and players to be announced.
Online prices have a minimum donation of $20. If you can, please give more. If you can't afford $20, give less at the door.
The supporter level price of $50 or more gets your choice of a We Are Not Going Away! t-shirt or a Make Jazz Not War t-shirt
