A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant & A Prayer
For the first time ever, V-Day Sacramento presents "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant & A Prayer: Writings to End Violence Against Women & Girls," A groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle. These diverse voices rise up in a collective roar to break open, expose, and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels.
These writings are inspired, funny, angry, heartfelt, tragic, and beautiful. But above all, together they create a true and profound portrait of this issue's effect on every one of us. "A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer" is a call to the world to demand an end to violence against women.
V-Day Sacramento is a local grassroots movement to end violence against all women and girls (cisgender, transgender, and gender non-conforming), bringing attention to the issues of sexual harassment, assault, domestic violence, rape, incest, and sex trafficking.
An entirely volunteer-run organization, V-Day Sacramento is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations using the power of art and activism. 100% of funds raised go towards our commitment to ending gender-based violence.
Proceeds from all V-Day Sacramento's 2018 productions will benefit A Community for PEACE, Sacramento Justice League and Wellspring Women's Center.
