Introduction to Hearth Cooking
Students taking this class will learn the basics of cooking on an open hearth and in a bake oven. The class will make a selection of foods featured in the museum's cooking demonstrations. Lunch will be provided in class. Please wear natural fibers.
Dan Silfies is an living history interpreter whose specialty is open hearth cooking and baking the outdoor bake oven. He graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor's degree in History and a Pennsylvania German Studies minor.
Cancellation policy: All materials must be pre-purchased by the instructor, therefore cancellations can only be refunded prior to the sales-end date.
