Renaissance Dance Workshop with Judith Kennedy (sponsored by San Francisco Renaissance Voices)
Join San Francisco Renaissance Voices and Instructor Judith Kennedy for this Renaissance Dance Workshop; this workshop is LOW-IMPACT and designed for both the novice and experienced dancer. Instructor Judith Kennedy received her B.A. in Dance and her M.A. in Dance with an emphasis in Dance History from Mills College. She was a choreographer with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for twenty five years, teaching and performing early dance. She has taught numerous workshops over a period of forty years, both for the Festival and various west coast universities. These workshops included an international summer course with the Consort de Danse Baroque in Cardiff, Wales. Schedule: 8:30-9:00 am - Sign-in 9:00 am-12:30 pm (9-9:30 Warm-Up, 9:30-12:30 Class Begins) The morning session will concentrate on basic steps and the more simple Renaissance Dances. 12:30-2:00 pm Lunch: Not provided; there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance - or bring your own; coffee/tea etc. will be provided 2:00-5:30 pm - Class Resumes: The afternoon session will concentrate on more advanced steps and several more complicated dances, the choice depending on the background and wishes of workshop participants.
