Buddhists in the west are typically very politically concerned and activist, yet traditionally Buddhism has been very cautious about direct involvement in efforts to push social change or world change outside of efforts to help individuals and groups, given that it takes a core position that we cannot ultimately change anything but our own minds and consequent actions and responses. Join us for a talk on Buddhist activism and what it means to actively change the world while only changing our minds.
