The Creole Belles with Andrew Carriere
The Creole Belles are distinguished by the high-energy, traditional fiddle style of Delilah Lee Lewis, who has been playing Cajun music for the 27 years, and has studied with many of the great Cajun and Creole musicians including Denis McGee, Canray Fontenot and Alphonse "Bois Sec" Ardoin, Dewey Balfa, and Michael Doucet. In 1995, she joined with accordionist Maureen Karpan and established musicians Karen Leigh and Karen Celia Heil to bring the traditional sounds of Creole music to Cajun and zydeco fans in the San Francisco Bay Area. With fiddle and accordion fronting the band and upright bass, rubboard and guitar providing solid rhythm, they entertain crowds with traditional, down home Cajun and Creole dance music. Special guest Andrew Carrire comes from a long line of traditional Creole musicians. The son of Bebe Carrire, he was raised in Louisiana, and brought his formidable musical background to California, where he now resides.
