LCTC 2018 Season Pass
SPRING: "THE LARAMIE PROJECT" by Moises Kaufman and the Tectonic Theatre Project, Directed by Stuart Bousel
Twenty years ago, in October 1998, 21-year-old Matthew Shepard was found savagely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in Laramie, Wyoming, because he was gay. The hate crime attracted vast attention worldwide, bringing sexual discrimination and violence to the forefront of public discourse. "The Laramie Project," comprised of hundreds of interviews with inhabitants of Laramie, is the portrait of a town forced to confront itself in the reflective glare of the national spotlight, responding with love, anger, sympathy, support and defiance. Hailed as one of the most captivating and encompassing pieces of contemporary theatre, the play shocks, challenges, and moves all who watch it as it reveals the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion that lies within all human beings in any seemingly average community.
Shows: April 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21 #LCTC2018, #LctcIRememberMatthew
