Fused Glass Butterfly Ponds with Theresa Novian
Fused Glass Butterfly Ponds with Theresa Novian
Wednesday, March 28

Add some color and fun to your garden or potted plants with this fused glass workshop making glass butterfly ponds! These attractive and whimsical pieces not only attract butterflies, but also hummingbirds, and add a splash of color, too! All supplies will be on hand to create a 6" diameter piece that will then be taken to instructor's studio to fire in her kiln with a copper cap fused into the bottom, making so you can then add any length of copper pipe (easily acquired at Lowe's or Home Depot). Participants will create the piece at the workshop and then after firing, can pick them up about a week later at the Arts Council's office. No prior experience required. Included will be instructions on glass cutting and fusing techniques.

Bio
Theresa Novion lives in a world of art. Her husband, an architect and four children pursue their various artistic endeavors with great imagination and an eye to excellence. The walls of her home are a backdrop for Theresas fused glass, as well as sketches and paintings in various media created by her family. Theresas glass art captures the serenity of nature and love of family that are a part of Theresa herself, as well as a sense of spirituality, warmth and humor. Her work can be seen in Seattles public spaces, such as schools, restaurants, galleries, as well as in private homes and organizations. Theresa has taught art in both private and public venues. Of her work, Theresa says, I love working in glass because its so alive and full of possibilities. To see examples of Theresas work, go to www.theresanovion.com/
