Murder Mystery - Reading of the will
Moonstone Theatre presents another of their popular comedy murder mystery evenings in our Bistro.
Can you deduce whodunnit?
It is 1935. Felix Abercrombie, a retired wealthy businessman, has died and his family and friends are gathering for a dinner party and the reading of his Will. Felix Abercrombie had retired after having made his fortune as a young man in the early 1880s through clever investments in the declining mining industry of the Tamar valley, specifically the arsenic exports from Morwellham coming from Devon Great Consols. From these humble beginnings he had set up an international shipping business.
His eldest son, George Abercrombie, had taken charge of the businesses after his fathers retirement. His younger son, Philip had moved abroad some years before, where he worked with the Copper mining industry in Northern Rhodesia. Up until Felixs death, his daughter, Rebecca, had looked after him, with the help of family friend Dr Richard Hargreaves.
On the night of his 80th birthday, after a family party, Felix suffered a fatal heart attack. As he had a weak heart, the excitement of the party had simply proved too much for him.
Felix had decreed that his Will should be read at a dinner party held to celebrate his life, and so, tonight, Lesley Ashton, a partner in the firm of Ashton, Barnaby and Spencer, has called family and friends together to open and read the Will.
However, not all goes as expected and before the evening is over someone is murdered. After the murder one member of the group takes charge of the investigation. All the clues are there to lead to the right conclusion, but will they be correctly deduced? The investigator, with the help of the other guests at the dinner party must get to the truth before the night is out!
