Managing for healthy soils the foundation of healthy farms
Experts from Washington State University, The University of Idaho, and USDA-ARS will present their research and experience with topics including: managing to increase soil carbon, and benefits of cropping system diversity; the role of roots in soil health; soil erosion by wind and water; testing for soil health; how policy affects soil health and cropping system management; and a panel with representatives from the NRCS, the Palouse Conservation District, and the RMA to discuss the role of their respective agencies in supporting area farmers to manage with soil health in mind.
