What happens when dreams and reality collide? In a new sci-fi dance-theater performance experience, DIDA co-founder, now Berlin-based dance-theater artist Nicola Bullock offers Triangle audiences an experience that traverses the ground between what we are and what we imagine ourselves to be. IMAGO follows the adventures of a masked creature as it arrives in an unfamiliar world and moves its alien body for the first time. As it gradually morphs into a more recognizable form-a human body-its animal instincts contend with social constructions of femininity, beauty, and aging. Inspired by Greek mythology, Impressionist paintings, and Golden-Era movies, IMAGO draws viewers into a space where truth and illusion are inseparable.
