Valentine's Day Comedy with KFAN's Common Man and headliner Michael Thorne
Dan "The Common Man" Cole has become one of the top radio talk hosts in the Midwest. Heard Monday through Friday on the KFAN Radio network. The Common Man program is considered by many to be the finest two hours in radio. City Pages named him Best Sports Radio Talk Host not once, but twice - first in 2001 and again in 2004. An avid golfer, Cole was appointed the "Official Unofficial Ambassador to Minnesota Golf" by Governor Jesse Ventura. He recently concluded a recurring segment on KMSP-TV where he provided social and sports commentary. He also appeared last year as the Taste Fairy in ads for SUBWAY.
We're excited to present the high-octane comedy of Michael Thorne. Audiences love Michael's energetic style, his insightful jokes and his cartoon-like vocal delivery. If you could hook Michael up to the power grid, you'd run Xcel Energy right out of business. Michael's shows are always memorable because they traditionally end with some of the most devastating closing bits in comedy.
Michael Thorne is an amalgam of culture and white trash raised on a greasy spoon in a borough of Minneapolis aptly named "Nordeast". He has brought his hilarious observational insights on evolution (or the lack thereof), human relations, marriage and parenthood to back-woods bar rooms, colleges, casinos and "A-List" comedy clubs from coast to coast and border to border. Michael grabbed the attention of Hollywood big wigs at one point, who urged him to leave Minnesota to further his career. But Michael favors the Midwestern family life. He will take you on a wild and hysterical tour of the minefield that is his life
Michael Thorne has a fast- paced comedy style that leaves audiences flinching with laughter. Non-stop and rapid-fire, Michael hits all the topics that have made him a comedy club favorite. Michael is undeniably one of the area's top comedians.
Relationships are his specialty, but don't expect Dr. Phil or Oprah...it's more like Judge Judy meets Jerry Springer. His diversity and high energy enable him to relate his humorous insights that any, and every, audience will find entertaining.
