When I Hear the Birds Sing (Trine Habjorg, Norway, animation, 2016, 8 min, French with English subtitles) West Coast premiere! Five Ivorian children had to flee when war broke out in the Ivory Coast after the presidential election in 2010. Those children talk about their lives then, and their hopes now.

Sabina, age 12, has to be circumcised according to the tradition of the Masai Tribe, but she is fully against it and fights for the rights of the girls in her village.
