Sketch and Scene Writing (Heros and Legends)
Have you ever watched Saturday Night Live or been to Second City? What you are watching are scripted scenes, developed through improvisation techniques. The purpose of this class to learn how to write scenes based on improv concepts. Dont be fooled, this class is not about comedy writing. Not all scenes have to be funny. This class is all about improving writing skills and understanding basics of script writing. Collaboration is a key element but individual work is also required. We will work on scene structure, character development, writing solid dialogue, and play around with style. Expect a lot of in class writing and a fair amount of homework.
