Ukulele Fiesta with Stuart Fuchs (aka "Stukulele")
Stuart (aka "Stukulele") is totally excited to be returning to The Villages with another super day of ukulele workshops and a special concert planned for you! This year's theme will be Rockabilly for the Ukulele: Uke-a-billy...in other words: Go cat go!!!
In this workshop Stu Fuchs will teach rockabilly & classic rock n roll guitar styles adapted for ukulele. Youll play classic songs and learn to make your ukulele emulate style of rockabilly rhythm & lead playing. Well play lots of FUN & EASY songs from Carl Perkins, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, The Beatles and more. Youll come away with a deep understanding of 12 bar blues form, pentatonic riffs, and how to decorate your strumming with boogie-woogie stylings that are guaranteed to get toes -a-tappin! Stu orchestrates the group into a super fun multi-part band.
Open to ALL LEVELS of player, beginner to advanced. After the workshop Stu will play a short set of his solo ukulele music and then hanging out for an informal meet and greet. Looking forward to seeing you there!

______________________________________ Quotes:
Many artists give workshops and concerts. Stukulele stands out among them adding wit, intelligence, charm and ease to his teaching and playing style. Plenty of take-away for both beginners and advanced players. Pittsburgh wants him back!
Marlene Parrish, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Steel City Ukuleles
You havent lived the ukulele unless youve heard Stu SHRED on the instrument fromBrazilian choroto jazz to his own wildly awesome licks and original songs. But you need to see Stu live to find out what he can do with the ukeand which body parts he can play it with.
Marion Jacobson, ethnomusicologist and writer for The Atlantic
Masterful playing and creative arrangements- Stuart Fuchs is a Tour de Force on Ukulele with taste and a heavy finger on the talent button.
Cathy Fink, GRAMMY Award Winner & Producer
I love Stukulele! His CD combines the playfulness of George Formby, the mastery of Jacob Do Bandolim, and a strong dose of originality. Stu respectfully pushes the ukulele to brave new heights, while keeping one foot rooted in a number of time honored traditions. Like a master juggler, he is part showman, part soul-man, part-instrumentalist, and he is definitely a part of the American Ukulele revival!

After seeing Stu perform with his gypsy jazz band Babik I just knew we had to work with them. The symphony show they subsequently designed and performed with the BPO was simply fantastic and we were very proud to share the stage with them. Stu is one of the greatest ambassadors for music I have ever met. Whether he is performing, teaching, or just talking, his passion and artistry shines through. You cannot help being pulled into the music when Stu is around. He is the real deal.
Daniel Hart, Executive Director, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra
The staff and children at Corning Childrens Center always look forward to time with Stuart. Whether he is here to perform for our young audience (3 month to 5 year olds)or to teach our school age students the basics of playing the uke, he is a hit! He is not just a talented musician, but also a sensitive, insightful, delightful teacher. If we were into grading, we would give him an A+!
