Scenic Limited Trains
Wildflower watchers can once again ride vintage trains at the Western Railway Museum. In April, the Museum will use its historic electric railway equipment on the Scenic Limited.
Now in its 12th year, the Scenic Limited runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 3 April 28 at 11:00am, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm. The train takes visitors on an hour-long, 11-mile round trip ride.
Passengers catch views of the native wildflowers that cover the Solano County hillsides and fields. The views change weekly and Museum docents are on board to point out whatever happens to be blooming along the way such as poppies, goldfields, brass buttons, butter and eggs, clover, and sheep's sorrel.
First Class passengers can make advanced reservations and ride in the restored 1914 Salt Lake and Utah Railway observation parlor car #751, enjoying cookies and lemonade served by uniformed attendants.
Visitors can also tour the Rail Car Display House and the Exhibit Hall, picnic in the Museum's spacious park, and shop in the Museum Store. Parking is free.
Details: Prices are $16 for adults, $15 for senior 65 and over, $13 for youth ages 2 - 14, and just $6 for Museum Members. Discounted tickets require an ID to establish age (seniors and youth), or a valid Museum Membership Card.
Trains depart ON TIME so please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure to pick up your tickets at will-call. Tickets not claimed by 10 minutes before departure may be released.
Unfortunately, there are no refunds or exchanges for any reason. All ticket sales are final.
