Cookie Coleman: Live on Valentine's Day
Featuring:
Adi Yeshaya, keyboard Dave Karr, saxophone Nathan Norman, drums Mark Weisberg, bass
Cookie Coleman has delighted audiences across the country with her cabaret performances. Singing jazz standards in a timeless fashion, she has performed in nightclubs and theaters including New York's Greene Street, Catch A Rising Star and regularly at the Dakota Restaurant in Minneapolis. She has also performed with the internationally renowned Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra.
For 10 years, Coleman led a 12-piece orchestra, Club Lucky. With that group she performed for distinguished guests such as Hillary Clinton and George Bush. The band opened for the great Aretha Franklin and performed for hundreds of corporate, special events and weddings.
As an award-winning event planner, Coleman has bridged her experience with events and music, combining her talents as a producer with her in-depth knowledge and love of music. Coleman has produced and performed in Pops shows for the Minnesota's Orchestra Hall: "A Tribute to Movie Music"; "Frank Sinatra: The Songs and the Singer"; and "Songs of the Century."
Coleman has recorded 4 compact discs: I Thought About You; One Night In Paradise; Cookie Coleman Live and Chestnuts Live. About "I Thought About You", critic Bob Protzman said, "this may be the best recording to ever come out of the Twin Cities by anyone."
