Peridance Contemporary Dance Company Elegant, Evocative, Memorable Saturday, February 10 8:00 PM
Founded by Artistic Director Igal Perry, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company has been a powerhouse of energetic and evocative dance since its inception in 1984. Described as being blessedly inventive Jennifer Dunning, NY Times, Mr. Perrys signature choreography has been presented throughout the years in venues around New York City including The Joyce Theater, City Center, and Brooklyn Academy of Music.
Mr. Perry, together with Executive Director Yarden Ronen-van Heerden, has structured the Company to explore and experiment with innovative movement and design while upholding the elegance and articulation of classical ballet, with an emphasis on performing repertory by notable choreographers. As part of its quest for originality and unique identity, PCDC has always sought out choreographic and compositional collaboration that result in a diverse repertoire. Over the years, repertory came to include original work by world-renowed choreographers Ohad Naharin, Dwight Rhoden, Sidra Bell, and Benjamin Harkarvy, in addition to the work created by Perry.
Mr. Perrys choreography displays maturity. His devotion to his craft and his attention to music together created a sense of serenity, a nod to the divine. Darrell Wood, NYC Dance Stuff.
