Students from Vocal Music, Band and Orchestra present an original mash-up of two classics, Amahl & the Night Visitors (Gian Carlo Menotti) and The Magic Flute (Mozart).
The 3 Kings cross the barren waste of the former United States, following a star that will lead them to the last remains of civilization, in search of a survivor, the "Holy Child", a young girl who miraculously is unharmed by the effects of the blast. En route, they meet Amahl and his mother.
The second part opens on The Magic Flute. and Pamina, the miraculous survivor, and daughter of the evil Queen of the Night. Pamina has taken shelter in Bethlehem PA with Sarastro and his order of mystics. The Queen, determined to have her daughter back, enlists the help of the heroic, yet naive, Prince Tamino.
Trying to survive in an almost tribal desolation, each character must decide with whom their loyalties lie, and where true virtue can be found in the midst of the chaos.
