HAT RESIDENT COMPANY 2018 WINTER/SPRING
This winter, Highland Arts Theatre is looking for performers of all ages to make up its newly revised HAT RESIDENT COMPANY. This new group will receive training in singing, dancing, and acting while taking in the whole scope of the Highland Arts Theatre Winter/Spring Season and participating on stage in The Tribute to the Rotary Show this June!
In this 20 week program, company members will meet once a week on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 starting January 15.
The program will be divided into two "semesters" with the first ten weeks focused on skill building and craft while the second ten weeks will focus on performance, culminating in a featured role in our June presentation, The Tribute to the Rotary Show, a variety show featuring the best of over 30 years of Broadway musicals.
Music Direction will be led by Barb Stetter (Dream, Heart of Steel, Next to Normal) who will focus on sight-singing as well as learning and holding harmonies.
Choreography and dance training will be led by Cynthia Vokey (Dream, Heart of Steel, A Christmas Carol), and will teach a different combination from a different style of dance every week.
Membership Dues for the program are $200 per semester (payable in installments or all at once) which will cover all program expenses as well as instructor and infrastructure costs.
Included in these 20 weeks will be an invitation to Dress Rehearsals of each of the 2018 Mainstage productions, as well as talk-back opportunities and special workshops with guest artists and production teams.
A sub-section of the Resident Company will also be offered: a JR Residents program for performers aged 10 to 13. These company members will also meet on Mondays from 4:00 to 5:30, with emphasis on movement, music, and beginning acting. JR Membership Dues are $150 per semester ($300 for all 20 weeks).
It is our hope to include a wide variety of performers in this group with differing levels of experience and talents. The Resident Company will be used to represent the HAT in public performances as well as future productions.
ELIGIBILITY:
Company Members must be approved by Artistic Director, Wesley J. Colford prior to registration. In order to be eligible for consideration you must have auditioned for the HAT within the last year. There will be a round of auditions during the day on Dec. 9th, 2017 which we highly encourage new talents to sign-up for. Members of all experience levels are welcome!
