Outcry the Play
What happens when you scream, but no one hears? This question is posed in the stage play "Outcry" written by Thais Francis. "Outcry" intertwines the lives of Emmett Till, Trayvon Martin, Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, Nicole Bell and Mamie Till. These individuals were either killed unjustly or are the loved ones of said victims. The play is set in Nicole Bell's ( fiancĂ© of slain Sean Bell who was killed the night before their wedding) dream a space void of time and structure, thus allowing them to interact, laugh together and pose questions for each other.  Through movement, and Shakespeare this play shows how dreams can become nightmares, which turn into reality.
