Drawing The Huntington
Each session 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Each session sold separately.
Artist, illustrator, and author Richard E. Scott will conduct five classes, drawing the art, architecture, and gardens of The Huntington. These classes are perfect for artists (plein air and studio painters), architects, designers, urban sketchers, students, hobbyists, and beginners. Students will improve drawing skills, develop better visual perception, and enrich their visual experience. Students may choose to enroll in individual classes, or attend all five. For repeat students, lesson plans will be customized to suit current skill level. Space is limited.

Feb. 24- How to Accurately Draw Anything In the first session, students learn how to see and interpret shapes, so that they can accurately draw anything desired.
Mar. 3- Drawing Form In the second session, students learn how to transform shapes into three dimensional forms, adding a sculptural dimension to their drawings.
Mar. 10- Nuance in Drawing In the third session, students learn how to capture the effect of light in a subject, adding nuance and radiance to their drawings.
Mar. 17- Perspective In the fourth session, students learn how to effectively draw architectural subjects in perspective.
Mar. 24- Finding Your Own Voice In the final session, students learn how to think like a storyteller when drawing to produce more satisfying and expressive artworks.
SUPPLY LIST (Please bring to each day of class.) Note: the tools below are NOT required. All you need is a pencil, eraser, and sketchbook. The list below reflects the Instructor's own drawing kit.
Pencil - Pentel Graphgear 500 / 0.9 size graphite - filled with 0.9 2B graphite refills
Prsimacolor Turquoise 2mm lead holder-filled with 2 mm 4B graphite refills.
Small blending stump - any brand
Thin retractable eraser - Tombow Mono Zero
Kneaded eraser - any brand
Battery operated eraser - Sakura (or any other brand is fine)
Sketchbook 9 x 12 Strathmore Drawing Pad
SALES POLICY: Tickets are not sold at the door for this event. The instructors require a final numbers count ahead of time for supplies.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Refunds will be issued only if cancellation is made at least 5 days prior to the event. Cancellations made within 5 days of the event will not be refunded.
