The Cellar at Nordo: French Champagne + Portuguese Ports
When you come to The Cellar at Nordo, you will never taste the ordinary.
There is an old saying in Europe: When the season is dark, and the weather is wet and cold, we must warm ourselves from the inside.
The delectable combination of French Champagne and Port from Portugal were made for just this season. For this unprecedented tasting event in the Cellar, we will revel in three Champagnes and two ports, representing the finest categories of these wines.
Classic Brut Champagne: We will start with the delicious and refreshing style of classic Brut Champagne. Crisp, refreshing, and always exciting.
Cremant de Bourgogne Rosé: From what most think is the best region in the world to grow Chardonnay and Pinot Noir comes this sparkling version of Burgundy's best . . . a striking, beguiling Rosé with verve and delicacy and finesse. It may just be the perfect glass of bubbly. Plus, it is irresistibly pink.
Vintage Champagne: This expensive version of Champagne wine is made only from grapes in the year of its vintage, and usually sells out before most people get to taste it. We will show you a 10 year old Champagne which is just now showing its best dimensions. The year 2007 was, as the French say, a challenging vintage which in the end always produces great wine. Fresh, tart, delightfully complex, this 2007 Vintage Champagne is an unparalleled tasting experience.
And then, its time to taste Port!
10 Year Tawny:A combination of various vintages, the smooth, classy delivery of this wine along is enough to change lives. Utterly charming with hints of spice, dried tropical fruit, and the classic warm, nutty overtones that make this so unforgettable.
2011 Late Bottled Vintage: Wildly delicious and edgy, the layers of milk chocolate, crushed plum, raspberry, and rich, black cherry are held on a structured frame, showing the potential to age. An extraordinary tasting experience to end the evening.
As always, Nordo's Culinarium and the Cellar at Nordo are 21+ venues. Due to the intimate nature of our event spaces and careful culinary planning all sales are final.
