The Ethnic Heritage Ensemble is Celebrating in 2018 ,45 years of captivating audiences globally with their unique brand of Improvised Soul music. The Current lineup features Corey Wilkes on trumpet and percussion and Alex Hardin on baritone sax and percussion and founder Kahil El Zabar on multi-percussion, voice and composition.
Sir Kahil El Zabar founded the EHE in 1973 and has toured this award winning creative music ensemble ever since. He has toured with Dizzy Gillespie, Cannonball Adderley, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Pharoah Sanders
Corey Wilkes is an award winning trumpeter, who has toured with, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Roy Hargrove, James Carter, Roy Ayers, Seun Kuti, Roscoe Mitchell and more. He also currently has e reoccurring role on the hit TV show ,Empire. He is one of todays Most sought after instrumentalists.
Alex Harding is the go to baritone saxophonist of today! He has performed in the Bands of such legends as Aretha Franklin, Sun Ra, Dollar Brand, and William Parker. His sound is full and robust, with an unique tenderness that makes him immediately recognizable.
