From Steven Levenson, acclaimed writer of Dear Evan Hansen (6 tony awards, 2017) and The Language of Trees, comes If I Forget. This newest work is a sharply funny and deeply honest new play about the stories we choose to believe, and the hurt only our nearest and dearest can inflict.
Liberal Jewish studies professor Michael Fischer has reunited with his two sisters to celebrate their father's 75th birthday. Each deeply invested in their own version of family history, the siblings clash over Michael's controversial book, caring for an ailing parent, and a secret each person has been carrying. As long-held resentments are revealed, the three negotiate their past with biting humor and razor-sharp insight.
If I Forget tells a powerful tale of a family and a culture at odds with itself.
Directed by Kat Sparks (Exit 27, Cages).
Presented by Southwest Theatre Productions.
