In a cycle spanning two evenings, violinist Wayne Lee and pianist Juliana Han perform J.S. Bach's complete works for violin and keyboard. The program will also feature two latter-day reinterpretations of Bach. Robert Schumann's arrangement of the Largo from Bach's C major sonata allows us to see this 18th century music through a heartfelt mid-19th century lens. Ryan Francis' "Sillage" (2007) bridges past to present, and Baroque Germany with modern-day New York City. Complimentary receptions will follow the concerts both evenings, featuring light refreshments and a selection of fine wines curated by William Emery, co-founder of the soon-to-open Inwood wine bar and avant garde peasant kitchen Tannat. Meet the musicians and connect with your neighbors!
