OIGC South Bay Holiday Concert Workshop Choir with Terrance Kelly
Learn from one of the great singers and directors of gospel music, Terrance Kelly!
Sing under the direction of Terrance Kelly in the South Bay Holiday Concert Workshop Choir and kick off Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir's 10th Annual South Bay Holiday Concert by opening the show!
Workshop dates: Sat, Dec 9 and Sat, Dec 16 from 11-1 PM
Concert date: Fri, Dec 22 at 7:30 PM
Terrance Kelly has been called everything from "a man of great passion and conviction" to a "demanding task master" to "an absolute musical genius," and to prove them all, he has garnered extensive musical credentials in both gospel and jazz music. His operatic range and jubilant emotion make him a popular soloist as well as an accomplished director, composer, and arranger. His credits include choral arrangements on albums by Linda Ronstadt and the Kronos Quartet, and gospel arrangements of popular music for TV and video soundtracks. In addition, he wrote and/or arranged most of the music on each of the choir's albums.
Terrance has received the following awards and honors:
An Emmy for his choral arrangement of the Choir's KGO-TV Public Service Announcement Outstanding Director at the Gospel Academy Awards
The Dr. Edwin Hawkins Excellence Award
KQED Local Heroes Award
Excellence in Sacred Choral Music from the Academy of Gospel Music
Workshop registration includes a ticket and participation in OIGC's 10th Annual South Bay Holiday concert at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, Friday, December 22nd at 7:30 PM. Must attend both workshops and the concert to participate.
