Evangelia Kingsley: "Never Say Never" - BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!
EVANGELIA KINGSLEY and CHIP PRINCE appear at Pangea on Saturday, January 20, 2018 (think Inauguration Day 2017!) at 7:00 pm in NEVER SAY NEVER, a personal and societal exploration of the unexpected. In other words, if Donald Trump can be President, Evangelia and Chip can do whatever the f*k they want! The show is directed by ELIZA BECKWITH.
Remember January 20th is the Women's March. Come see the show...it's a great way to end a day of marching! Laugh with us, cry with us, drink with us!
Here's what one audience member had to say about Never Say Never:
"It had the wit and joy of a Taylor Mack 'History of Popular Music' show . . . the crazed-punk unexpected variety of music like a classic Kiki & Herb performance . . . and the depth of character & story telling of an Anna Deavere Smith play . . ." Thom Heyer
Mark Dundas Wood of Bistro Awards said of their last show, Dance Me To The End of Love: "Evangelia Kingsley's program zigzags between Bea Lillie-worthy zaniness and explorations of dark, somber themes. Kingsley has the authoritative stage presence to pull it all into a cohesive whole . . ." The Boston Globe said Evangelia is effective, and impassioned, the Star-Ledger called her riveting, and the Princeton Packet said Kingsley is a marvel. David Finkle of Backstage said Im still thinking about the hilarious yet subtle drunk she threw during the William Bolcom-Arnold Weinstein At the Last Lousy Moments of Love. He called her, [d]ark, fleshy, sexy, and proudly Greek and ended his enthusiastic review of her NY cabaret debut with . . . shes good enough for an audience to want to hear plenty more.
Evangelia met CHIP PRINCE during Baz Luhrmann's production of La Boheme and they have worked together happily ever since. Along with talented director, ELIZA BECKWITH (known for world premieres of original and complex plays with Ensemble Studio Theatre and New Directions Theatre), they have created a surprising, funny and emotionally powerful journey through song.
Find your way to NEVER SAY NEVER. You'll be glad you did.

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
