The HAYLOFT at Dragonfly Barn | BRIDGTON COMMUNITY CENTER FUEL BANK FUNDRAISER
An evening of storytelling and music with Lynne Cullen and Kurt Kish.
From the annals of Norse mythology come these exciting, hilarious stories about the original Odd Couple! Come hear "The Adventures of Thor and Loki", along with other spellbinding tales and stories, accompanied by an original music score.
This event is a fundraiser for the Bridgton Community Center ("BCC") Fuel Bank . Formed in 2007, funded primarily through private donations, this program provides emergency fuel assistance to Bridgton low and moderate income households. Qualified applicants receive 100 gallons of oil, K1, propane or the equivalent in pellets or wood. The BCC has assisted from 20 to 70 families annually since 2007.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS Lynne Cullen is a storyteller, playwright, and concertina player. She has performed in old and New England. Lynne loves myths and folktales; her original stories fall somewhere between The Twilight Zone and Looney Tunes. For seven years, Lynne has hosted Seanachie Nights in Portland, Maine: a monthly evening of traditional stories and music.
When Kurt Kish was 14, he found a 4-string tenor acoustic guitar in his mother's closet. Kurt taught himself music and guitar. Later he studied music theory and composition. As a solo musician he has developed an original voice on electric guitar. With such diverse musical influences as Exotica from the 50s, quirky instrumentals of the 60s, Black/Doom Metal, Bach and Bartok, listeners can expect to hear something unique.
