Historic Building Processes
Understand how to utilize historic preservation to benefit your client and expand your architectural design repertoire. This 2-hour interactive lecture led by Sarah Marsom will delve into local and federal historic districts, and state and federal historic tax credits. Utilizing examples of projects in Columbus, Marsom will take you step-by-step through the local design review process and help you understand best methods to expedite local design review. Learn the basics of the historic tax credit application and how your client can earn up to 45% of project costs through historic tax credits. Reflecting on historic tax credit projects in Ohio, we will discuss the National Park Services Secretary of the Interiors Standards are and how to retain your architectural vision, while respecting the standards and the historic architectural elements. Youll walk away from this lecture with a greater understanding of local, state, and federal perspectives on historic preservation.
