Roots Down Songwriter Sessions at The Spot on Kirk

Join us Saturday, January 27th for Roots Down Songwriter Sessions featuring Roanoke's Corey Hunley & Phil Norman with Charlotteville's Wille DE & David Tewksbury!

These four artists were first brought together by WVTF radio host Luke Church for a live in-studio songwriter's round in September 2016. The energy was palpable, the friendship immediate, and the music sweet. Immediately after the show, the four opened a conversation to bring the same energy to stages in Southwest Virginia. That winter, the show brought in a near sell-out crowd at Roanoke's favorite listening room, The Spot on Kirk, and wowed again at Charlottesville's Ante Room in the spring of 2017.

Each artist will bring a unique approach to his writing and performance with influences coming from all corners of the American musical world. You can expect flavors from folk to country, jazz to blues, and R & B to rock and roll.
