The San Francisco based womens vocal ensemble Musae will present a program of treble-choir classics celebrating Mary and motherhood. Queen of Heaven will explore how Jesus' mother and the divinity of motherhood have been represented and celebrated in music through the last 500 years, including compositions by Palestrina, Brahms, Verdi, Bach, Holst, Libby Larsen, and a world premiere of a setting of Hildegard of Bingen by Bay Area composer Eric Tuan. (Please note that there will be two separate shows; tickets will be for one specific show only).
