Three Wise Kings

Continuing the tradition of an Early Music Holiday Concert the week after Christmas, this year the Lakeville, CT-based, national award-winning music organization Crescendo presents a festive concert with villancicos and polyphonic Renaissance compositions from the Iberian and Latin American countries.

The villancico was a common poetic and musical form of the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America, popular from the late 15th to 18th centuries. Spain had a rich tradition of highly developed polyphonic music. Works by Guerrero, Morales, Araujo, Enzina and Torrejón y Velasco.

Crescendo Vocal Ensemble with Soprano and Baroque Guitarist Salome Sandoval, Hideki Yamaya Lute and Baroque Guitar, Scott Hill, Guitar, Christa Patton Renaissance Harp, and Carlos Boltes, Charango, directed by Christine Gevert.

This concert will also be performed the next day (December 30) at 4 pm at Trinity Church in Lakeville, CT
