Dark Play or Stories for Boys by Carlos Murillo
Nick is lying in bed with his college girlfriend when she discovers his body is covered in scars. As she tries to get him to explain, Nick is catapulted back to his early teen years, when he was an outsider at school who took shelter in the endless possibilities and anonymity of the world wide web. Nick's favorite activity? Manipulating other people by creating false identities for himself.
And then he finds the ultimate project: Adam, a young man looking for love. Nick's imagination and creativity reach new heights as he creates and "introduces" Adam to the girl of his dreams: Rachel.
But as Nick's facade of Rachel becomes more and more complex, Nick becomes obsessed, and in an effort to maintain it, he creates an entire fictional world to keep Adam ensnared. When the boys meet, the lies continue, and soon neither is sure what to believe any more as the real world and the cyber world collide.
