New Old Time Chautauqua Holiday Benefit -The Jugglers' Ball
The New Old Time Chautauqua (NOTC) giddly presents in 3rd Annual Holiday Benefit performace, "The Jugglers' Ball". In an amazing evening of comedy, music, performance, and, yes, juggling!

The "Jugglers' Ball" will be held at Port Townsend's American Legion Hall 209 Monroe Street, Port Townsend, WA. 98368 on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 7pm.

This show is the perfect tonic for whatever ails you, especially if you're in the juggler's vein. The "Juggler's Ball" will feature some of funniest, amazing, and mind-blowing prestidigitors of all time.

All proceeds benefit the NOTC. NOTC's mission is to engender community through education, entertainment, and laughter. NOTC was founded in 1981 by the Flying Karamazov Family. Since then, NOTC has toured to over 150 small towns and Native Nations in the Greater Northwest. NOTC, part of the Great Chautauqua Movement, is the only traveling Chautauqua in North America!

The proceeds from last year's Port Townsend Holiday NOTC Benefit went to support two great touring programs.

First was the Hands Across the Border Project (HAB) in June, 2017. HAB was full-on collaboration with Blackfoot Confederacy across the US-Canadian Border. This NOTC project was an exploration into relationship and healing. NOTC also hosted locally driven workshops on Domestic Violence, Border Treaties, Dotrine of Discovery, the Stick Game, traditional medicine, and many more.

Second was NOTC's Northeast Oregon Tour. Performing in theatre's, libraries, senior centers, NOTC also headed parades, workshops, and an amazing evening of vaudeville. Particularly of note was NOTC's visits to Oregon correctional facilities which included shows and workshops with prisoners.

2018 NOTC Washington State Parks Tour in Collaboration with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
This will NOTC's second tour working with Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (WSPRC). In our first joint effort in 2016 NOTC and the WSPRC worked together to bring native voices to Washington State Parks. In 2018 we plan to expand that program in all the Parks and communities we'll be visitng in North-Central Washington. NOTC will also be collaborationg with the communities of Ephrata/Sun Lakes State Park, Pateros/Alta Lake SP, and Twisp-Wintrhop/Pearrygin SP.

All proceeds from this benefit will go to support the 2018 tour!

These storied purveyors of juggling and cheap theatrics, have been on Broadway 6 times, the West of London 3 times, played in nearly every major theatre in North America, starred in film and TV, and toured throughout the world since their inciption in 1973. In fact, they will be at the Wheeler Theatre right here in Port Townsend premiering their new show with new Karamazov's Tomoki Sage and Chen Pollina of NANDA, Dec. 15-17! If you want two back-to-back weekends of FKB fueled belly laughs mixed with musical and air-borne skill this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see much of the FKB comedy canon! He accompanies himself with precise exuberance on an improbable assortment of instruments, including 12 string guitar, harmonica, trombone, banjolin, ukulele, guitarron and percussion  sometimes several at once.

Thaddeus Spae's compositions have been featured on National Public Radio, Showtime cable television and Broadway, choreographed by the Paul Taylor Dance Troupe and recorded for broadcast by the BBC.

The Fighting Instruments of Karma Marching Chamber Band/Orchestra
This band was founded by Thaddeus Spae in 1975 and has been playing ever since. It is a confluence of musical volunteers who have been playing with NOTC since 1981. It is the joyous musical heart of the Chautauqua.
