C3? Sitcom Writing Basics with UCB's Zeke Nicholson
Do you want to write Drama for television? Okay, good luck, I don't know how to do that. I can, however, help you if you want to write comedy! This workshop will cover topics ranging from basic sitcom structure, pitching in a writers room, punching up jokes, and making your characters come to life. You'll come away armed with a number of tools to go tackle that pilot you've been meaning to write!
Zeke is on the amazing UCB LA improv and sketch team White Women, an all black, all male comedy group that breaks barriers (or reinforces stereotypes) and Cardinal Redbird a team of Hollywood superstars turning real-life industry horror stories into laughs. He has also written and performed sketches for Comedy Central and Funny or Die and has just wrapped up on the first season of AP Bio, a sitcom dropping in March on NBC.
