More about Jim Wiggins
Comedian Jim Wiggins has performed on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and been a regular for a full season on the Emmy Award winning show, "Last Comic Standing" Jim has been making people laugh for a long time, Jimmy Wiggins is silly stuff and stories. He is a chili bowl of laughs surrounded by cracker barrel philosophy. His act is slow-cooked and spiced with hints of Mark Twain, Will Rogers and George Carlin. This humorous concoction will fill you up and stick to your ribs for quite a while!
Jim bills himself as "The Last Hippie in America" and his performance is as easy-going and amiable as a cruise in a flower covered VW bus. He is at an age where things have started to go wrong. His friends have started to die off and relationships have ended. Some decisions that he made earlier in his life have come back to rattle chains.
Aging has brought changes to his health and he stares these issues directly in the eye with his own comedic style. He has discovered some compensation for a trip to the doctor. "As someone who never purchased legal drugs: I was amazed at the quality!"
Jim Wiggins was born a "war baby" in 1941. Jim earned "beer money" for his Grandpa, who became his very first agent. He learned to talk funny and began his career performing a "Singing & Dancing Cowboy Act" on the bar tops in his Chicago neighborhood.
Growing into the role of 'juvenile delinquent' Jim attended Public, Lutheran, Methodist, Jewish and Catholic Schools, and learned just enough larceny to get sent to the Illinois State Reformatory where he defending himself from hecklers. Very big hecklers. Fully reformed, Jim became a 'Hippie Suburbanite' raising five kids and many plants.
Following a dream and a court order, Jim moved to Hollywood and became a stand up comic. Jim appeared on the Mike Douglas Show, the Toni Tennille Show, and wrote material for George Carlin, Chuck Barris and David Letterman.
Jim journeyed countrywide escaping Hollywood. He performed in saloons and comedy clubs, slowly gathering a loyal following for his character, "The Last Hippie in America." Falling prey to the addictions of "The Road" Jim doesn't remember the years 1992 thru 2001. Jim believes it was a whole lot of fun, but who knows??? Anybody??? Anybody!!!
This believer in dreams come true, hit televisions high mark for a performer... The Tonight Show. Jim also became a two-season regular on Last Comic Standing
