The Matador, a one-act anti-play by Robert Plowman
Many say that Senior Matador is the greatest bullfighter of all time. In a troubled world, he alone is the cause for hope. But in El Toro del Rey he may have finally met the bull that will be his undoing. Their rivalry is the stuff of legends. It will end in death. It will end in booze. It will end in catchy pop songs.
This might be the strangest love story you will see this Valentine's Day Season, but we promise it will be unforgettable.
Limited seating, only 100 seats per performance!

This play was originally written in 72 hours as part of the First Drafts course taught by Todd Ristau. The play was selected for a reading as part of the Hollins Festival of New Works and performed on Sunday, July 22nd, 2012 and received a standing ovation. That original performance was directed by David Gothard and featured Drew Dowdy, Chad Runyon, Emma Sperka and Danny Reynolds. This production would not have been possible without the foundation laid by that original reading and the feedback from our guest responders at the Festival.
