VIP Final Dress Rehearsal for THE MATADOR by Robert Plowman
Last year's joint production between the Playwright's Lab at Hollins University and Mill Mountain Theatre was an incredible success. We brought in a guest director from New York City, Bob Moss, to direct THE ARCTIC CIRCLE by MFA playwright Samantha Macher. The show had a nearly sold out run at MMT and transferred to Manhattan before being published by Original Works Publishing. Since then, Sam has gone on to become one of the hottest playwrights in Los Angeles with several more published plays and award winning productions.
The event last year was so successful that the Board of Trustees at Mill Mountain Theatre have decided to make this an annual event.
This year, we bring you an absurdist romance between a matador, a bull, and an American journalist. The playwright, Robert Plowman, will be coming in from Canada for rehearsals and as last year, we are having a private VIP final dress rehearsal with invited guests who are leaders in our local arts community.
The rehearsal will begin at 8PM, and afterwards we hope you'll joine us for a spirited discussion of the impact new plays can have as Roanoke continues to become known as an international hot spot for new play development. The refreshments will be provided by our event sponsor, LUCKY restaurant.
Seating is limited to the first 100 people to confirm their seats.
