Ben Weaver Continue the Conversation at Studio LRB
Please join us for us for a special evening of continued song, poetry, storytelling and conversation around the themes of water, land, community, and healing in the studio of painter Linda Ricklefs Baudry.
Back in April we held a conversation and performance in which we shared experiences and stories as a group about how to foster deeper connections to our land, water and community. As with all living things change is constant and unavoidable. We felt it would be insuring and useful to revisit this conversation. Please join us.
In these transitional times we need congruence. To meet our neighbors, to share in conversation, to discover new knowledge and humor. It takes courage to look into the abyss, yet often we find that it is not that deep, not that dark, and not that scary, particularly when in peering over the edge we are among others.
Ben Weaver has been touring around the U.S. and Europe on his bike. His work has been to meet people, make art, and start conversations. To learn firsthand what is happening on the land, in the water and among people's hearts and minds.
To be agents of change, we must take risks to infract and engage in new ways. Ask new questions. Change the patterns. This is what Ben does with his concerts. He is known for their inclusivity and vulnerability. We very much hope to see you here.
Seating will be provided. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share, along with a beverage of your choice (BYOB). There will be time after the performance to interact and share in more conversation.
If you want to learn more about Ben and the space he occupies artistically please check out this article that he wrote for the Walker. http://www.mnartists.org/article/edges-we-must-run
Here is a film that 89.3 the Current made about Ben's effort to support Dave and Amy Freeman's A Year in the Wilderness project to protect the BWCA from the threat of copper sulfide mines. http://www.thecurrent.org/feature/2016/04/01/a-musical-adventure-in-the-boundary-waters
