Doug Haywood and JC & Laney Concert Evening
Join us for a marvelous evening of music and fun with the legendary and most likely infamous JC & Laney, and Doug Haywood!
You may not be aware of it, but youve heard Doug harmonize with lead singers on half a dozen Gold Records. Among them are Bobbie Gentry, Jackson Browne, Mason Williams, Linda Ronstadt, Graham Nash, and Johnny Rivers.
Hes supported scads of big name singers on albums because of his vocal range and ability to co-create just the right sound for them. Some of these stars are: Willie Nelson, Brewer and Shipley, Chuck Pyle, Warren Zevon, Greg Alman, Rosemary Butler, Cher, and the Doobie Brothers.
Over the years, Doug has written many songs in several genres - Rock, Pop, Bluegrass, and Country. His tunes have been recorded by Jackson Browne, Mason Williams, Bobbie Gentry, Sue Harris, and John Travolta and many others. He has recorded his songs himself on 3 CDs that will be, of course, for sale.
Doug will be accompanied by his friend, Reggie Chavez, a fine guitarist in his own right.
Opening the evening will be JC & Laney. They are powerful writers and performers who have great voices and chose fine songs to share. JC & Laney have been in various bands, a cappella to folk to rock, all their lives. For the past 6 years they have been a high energy Americana Duo performing in the Western United States fifty to one hundred times each year. They write, sing harmony & perform their own songs, sounding complete, though accompanied by one lonely acoustic guitar. They have a catalog of about 80 original compositions, and all of them can be performed on a street corner.
They have 7 CDs under their belt, working with legendary producer, Steve Wood, the former musical director for Kenny Loggins. They are known first & foremost as entertainers with improvised banter, trademark harmonies & memorable songs that run the gamut between folk, blues, pop, rock & comedy.
Advance tickets are $15, and admission at the door will be $20.
