Mr. Thoreau Tonight
Richard Hugo House premieres "Mr. Thoreau Tonight," a staged reading of a new one-act play written by the nationally renowned poet and Hugo House writer-in-residence, David Wagoner. The play is directed by Sheila Daniels (associate director of Intiman Theatre) and stars Todd Jefferson Moore (In the Heart of the Wood) as Mr. Thoreau, Peter Dylan OConnor (Ikea Circle) and Tracy Repep (The Bridge of San Luis Rey).
"Mr. Thoreau Tonight" follows one night in the life of Henry David Thoreau as he prepares for a lecture. Drawing on Thoreaus own words, playwright David Wagoner gives full expression to the philosophers beliefs about mans role in nature, while at the same time revealing Thoreaus personal difficulties in dealing with his own life.
