Yukon Nonfiction Festival: Critique Sessions with Trena White
Top publishing veteran Trena White will meet one-on-one with participants to discuss their writing challenges and concerns. Trena was nonfiction editor at McClelland and Stewart and has edited books by Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Paul Watson and CBC's This Is That. Participants will be asked to submit excerpts of up to 1,000 words from their manuscript in advance, along with three questions about the work, which will help guide the conversation. Each session is 30 minutes, so writers are advised to choose questions that represent recurring issues throughout the manuscript. Send to firstdraftwhitehorse@gmail.com
Trena White is co-founder and principal of Page Two, a publishing agency based in Vancouver, and literary agent at Transatlantic Agency. Trena is the former publisher of Douglas & McIntyre and Greystone Books, running a publishing program of sixty new books each year, and non-fiction editor at McClelland & Stewart. She has a master of publishing degree from Simon Fraser University and is now adjunct professor in publishing at SFU.
